Arthur Beck
Arthur F. Beck was born on October 2, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Butler University in 1965 with a degree in Accounting. In 1965, he began working for Irwin Katz & Co., CPAs, while attending law school at night. He was admitted to the Association of Certified Public Accountants in 1969, the same year he earned his law degree from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. Art began his law career in Columbus, Indiana that same year. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Tax Section of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Business Section of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Bartholomew County Bar Association. He limits his practice to estate planning, probate and corporate law.
Art has served the Bartholomew County community in many ways. He served as Columbus City Attorney from 1971-1979; Chairman of Max Andress Election Committee; Past President of Columbus Jaycees; Parish Council Member - St. Bartholomew Church, Past President of Board of St. Bartholomew Catholic School (1981-1983); Founding Member of Columbus Community College responsible for bringing the IUPUI (now IUPUC) campus to Columbus; Past President and Member of Harrison Lake Country Club; Past Chairman of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Board (1986 & 1987); Past President of the Bartholomew County Bar Association; Recipient of Jaycee Distinguished Service Award; Member of Butler University Vision for the Future Committee; Co-Founder of Columbus Visitor Information & Promotion Commission; Member of Mayor’s Focus 2000 Steering Committee; and, past attorney for the Columbus Aviation Board.
Art married his wife, Pinkie, on August 27, 1966. They have two children, Julie Nash and Jeff Beck, and five grandchildren, Madeline, Lucy, Sophie, Max and Ryan. When not working or babysitting his grandchildren, Art enjoys golf and attending Colts and Pacer games.
